This blog entry is going to be a bit different than my normal style.  This is one of those WTF moments that I just felt compelled to respond to.  It’s that off the wall that it’s even had some heterosexual people I know asking WTF.  So it’s now time for a WTF Moment…  LOL

Michael S. Heath, head of the Christian Civic League of Maine, has said that Maine’s lack on sunshine this summer is the fault of the state legalizing gay marriage.   “In May, our elected officials overturned a law of nature, and in its place paid honor to evil and unnatural practices. Our leaders allowed a cloud of error to hide the light of reason, and then the rain began. How fitting that this eclipse of human reason is mirrored by the disappearance of the sun!”

And you think this is all he’s been going on about?  I think not.  On September 25, Heath wrote a blog titled The Nation Will Right Itself If It Fixes Sex in which he blames the entire financial and economic collapse on America’s sinful culture and acceptance of gay unions. “Our crisis is a symptom, not the cause,” says Heath. “I am not saying I know whether this financial crisis is God’s judgment or not. It is not for me to know that definitively.”

So now it’s my turn to say something to this….which I already basically have….WTF?  3 million sperm and that’s the one that got through.  Good God!!  How bad were the others then?  Honestly, this guy either fell asleep in History class or just didn’t pay attention.  He’s using the LGBT community as a scapegoat.  And he must be an idiot if he doesn’t know who has tried this before….Hitler.  Hitler tried to blame the entire economic depression of the 1930s on the Jews, amongst other things, and then tried to use that eradicate them.  Now albeit, Heath isn’t attempting eradicate the LGBT community (though he might try if he actually had the power to do so), but he is using Hitler’s tactic of scapegoating our community.  And that is just wrong.  So Maine’s having a cool summer…it happens from time to time.  It’s not as if the sun will never come out again, that it won’t warm up, or that Maine (and just the state of Maine) is going to enter a huge ice age as of tomorrow.  This guy is just trying to cause a brouhaha because he’s stuck in the past and can’t get his head out of his ass long enough to see that society is changing for the better because everyone should be included as a productive member.  It is only then that society can truly excel.

So Mr. Heath might want to take out a History book and do some reading.  He’d quickly find out that he’s not in good company with his thoughts.  The state of Maine is going to be fine.  The sun will come back out.  And oddly enough, concerning his September 25 blog, the economy was free-falling then before the states of Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire had approved gay marriage….and California was in the process of passing Prop 8.  So it was his side that was in control.  Since all of the pro-gay movements began happening earlier this year, the economy has started to stabilize.  Hmmm…..let’s give that some thought, too.

So here’s a recommendation…and I think it’s fair.  I think the people of Maine should kick Mr. Heath out of their state.  That doesn’t mean he gets to go to Canada or New Hampshire.  That would be unfair to them, too.  Rather, I think he should be placed in a dingy out in the middle of the northern Atlantic Ocean (possibly with Perez Hilton) and let nature take over.  Otherwise, this guy really needs to shut up.  One must truly wonder, and I know that I sure do, if this man actually hears himself speak or if he just drifts in and out.  WTF??
